Former Governor of Yobe State, Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim has died aged 73.
It was learnt that Ibrahim, who ruled the North East state from 1999 to 2007, died on Sunday in Saudi Arabia, after battling a protracted illness.
After his stint as governor, Ibrahim was elected into the Senate to represent Yobe East in 2007 and re-elected in 2011 and 2015.
In 2017, the married ex-governor was in the eye of the storm after he was captured on tape frolicking with two women in a hotel in Abuja.
Ibrahim, who was a serving senator at the time, said he did not commit any offence, adding that the video was only made public after attempts to blackmail him with it failed.
