Many Nigerians were taken by surprise on Wednesday when veteran actor, John Okafor popularly known as Mr Ibu, cried out for help over his dwindling health.
The popular actor shared a video of himself on a hospital bed on his verified Instagram page.
He disclosed that he had been hospitalised for several weeks because of “a strange and dangerous illness”.
On an alarming note, he stated that doctors had warned that his legs could be amputated as a last resort.
He urged Nigerians to pray for him and assist him financially towards footing his medical bills.
“Just see me, if they cut off my leg, where do I go from here? Please pray for me, talk to God Almighty, and I don’t want my legs to be cut off,” he said.

Since the SOS message, many fellow celebrities as well as other well-meaning Nigerians have been responding by offering a word of encouragement, transferring money to the account number provided in the video, or both.
After celebrity blogger, Tunde Ednut shared the viral emotional video, Paul Okoye of PSquare group revealed that his brother and him were also planning with Davido and Obi Cubana to fly the veteran actor abroad for proper medical attention.
